13 First Alert Weather Day for Wed. April 2 over potential for severe storms

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The 13 First Alert Weather Team has issued a First Alert Weather Day for Wednesday, April 2 over the potential for severe storms in the viewing area.

Severe Threat(WTVG)

WHAT/WHEN: There are two main windows for damaging wind, heavy rain and tornadoes on Wednesday — one in the late morning through just after noon, and another in the late evening into the night. Much like Sunday evening, the primary threat will be 60+ mph wind gusts… although large hail and tornadoes can’t be ruled out.

WHERE: All of NW Ohio/SE Michigan is under an enhanced (3/5) severe weather risk, per the Storm Prediction Center

WHY: A warm front lifting north that morning will produce a batch of showers and storms, with the evening cold front tapping into extra energy — though lots of wind shear will be the key ingredient.
