NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Carnival Cruise Line has adjusted the itinerary for the Carnival Sunshine to avoid Hurricane Erin.
The ship was scheduled to depart from Norfolk on Sunday to embark on a six-day cruise with stops in Bermuda on Aug. 20 and 21.
“We know you were looking forward to visiting Bermuda and share your disappointment for this weather-related change of plans but trust you will agree that your safety takes priority,” Carnival said in an email to guests.
The Carnival Sunshine will instead sail to Celebration Key in the Bahamas on Aug. 19 and Nassau on Aug. 20 before returning to Norfolk on Aug. 23.
