SpaceX launch lights up Virginia skies

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – 12 On Your Side received several phone calls and social media messages Tuesday about a mysterious-looking sight in the skies.

No, it wasn’t a comet – it was a SpaceX launch.

Teresa Abel captured this video of Space X over Goochland County in Virginia.

The rocket took off from Florida, and the launch could be seen up and down much of the East Coast.

According to Space Flight Now, the mission, dubbed Maxar 3 by SpaceX, took off just before 6:13 p.m.

It was SpaceX’s second launch of the day.

“Less than eight minutes after liftoff, B1086 touched down at Landing Zone 1 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, marking the 48th booster landing at LZ-1 and the 405th booster landing to date,” Space Flight Now said.
